Birds of prey paid a visit to a care home in Woolmer Green as part of the RSPB’s Big Garden Birdwatch.
Residents at Knebworth Care Home in London Road, which provides residential, dementia and nursing care, took part in the annual wildlife survey to record the number of birds and other wildlife species they could spot in their garden.
The care home was also visited by CJ’s Birds of Prey, who brought hawks, owls and a kestrel for residents to meet up close and learn about through Q&A session.
Home manager Vera Moreira-Henocq said: “The birdwatch is always an incredibly popular activity with residents, so we were delighted that CJ’s Birds of Prey could join us to make the event even more special.
“Residents had the opportunity to hold some of the birds, which was a really special moment.
“We all had a fantastic time and will continue our ‘twitching’ hobby over the coming months.”
