A Welwyn Garden City family are opening a new shop in the town this weekend.

Anne-Marie Conway is taking over Jays Bridal in Moors Walk and renaming it Birdcage Bridal Boutique, with her daughter Bethany Conway and partner Ian Duffield.

The family are having their grand opening this weekend, January 13 to 14, with prosecco, cake and a sale.

Bethany, who was born in WGC, will be acting as store manager alongside her mother, who is the company director.

Anne-Marie said: “I’ve always wanted to bring a unique and stylish wedding dress experience to WGC and now I’m doing something that I’ve always wanted to do.”

The shop has undergone a refurbishment and has new features including a second large fitting room and a bridal catwalk for final fitting brides to practice walking down the aisle.

Bethany, who got engaged over Christmas, said: “We are looking forward to opening our doors seven days a week for walk-ins and booked appointments so that every one of our customers can have an experience they’ll never forget.”

The shop will be open from noon to 6pm on Saturday and 10am to 4pm on Sunday.
