RUBBISH and recycling schedules have been released for the festive period, with a warning to some residents who need to put their bins out two days early.

Most people’s wheelie bins will be emptied one day later than usual, but those who are due to be collected on Monday/Boxing Day are being asked to be ready on Saturday/Christmas Eve.

Councillor Colin Couch said: “It’s worth noting that most Christmas cards can be recycled via the paper trays in the blue lidded bins or the paper banks at local recycling centres, and wrapping paper (without sticky tape) can be placed in compost bins.

“Cards heavily decorated with glitter, foil, string etc and wrapping paper with sticky tape, can be placed in rubbish bins.”

Christmas trees can be recycled between Tuesday, January 3 to Friday, January 13 at the north car park at Stanborough Park.

The trees collected will be mulched for use in the park.
