A RESTAURANT manager from Potters Bar who was vying for a place in the final series of Big Brother has missed out.

Amanda, who is half-Brazilian and half-Portuguese, appeared on the live launch show aired on Channel 4 last night (Wednesday) along with 80 other potential housemates, but did not make the cut.

After 13 contestants were hand picked by producers, presenter Davina McCall randomly selected the 14th and final housemate to act as Big Brother’s ‘mole’ but the 23-year-old’s number was not drawn out.

Amanda, who has a degree in business management and helps run family restaurants in London and Portugal, will now have to watch the 11th and final series on TV as housemates - which include a Beyonce lookalike, an ex-soldier amputee and a lesbian DJ - all battle it out to be crowned the winner.

The 14 names which will feature in the 13 week show are Rachael White, Benjamin Duncan, Corin Forshaw, John James Parton, David Vaughn, Ify Kuku, Steven Gill, Yvette Martyn, Govan Zachariah Hinds, Josie Gibson, Nathan Dunn, Shabby Katchadourian, Caoimhe Guillfoyle and Mario Mugan.
