PLANS to build more than 200 homes in WGC have moved a step closer.
Homebuilder Taylor Wimpey has submitted a planning application to Welwyn Hatfield Council to redevelop the former Roche site on Broadwater Road.
The application follows extensive demolition work that has taken place at the site over the last month.
The development, if approved, would see the construction of 207 residential units, incorporating a mixture of one and two bed flats and three and four bedroom houses.
A public open space and community facility would also be provided.
A spokesman for Taylor Wimpey said: "We are confident our plans will meet the housing needs of the local community and create a development that will complement and enhance the local area."
The plans are currently open to consultation until July 15.
