SEEING in the new year normally marks an end to the Christmas festivities of the previous month.
But it wasn't an end to Crimbo for the WHT news team.
Back to work last Wednesday after a day off to recover from new year celebrations, they received a surprise delivery.
More specifically, a Christmas card from Welwyn Hatfield Council's communications team.
A little on the late side, but you can always blame the postman, especially at this time of year.
Well, you could - except this card was hand delivered.
Oh well, it's the thought that counts!
FOR many years those good guys and gals at Academy have been dressing up festively on Christmas Eve.
I even remember my great uncle Charles mentioning them when he had his column in the WHT.
Their efforts go down very well with customers.
So much so that one regular at the Garden City salon, dad of two Simon Summers, has been joining in the fun and dressing up as well.
Salon partner Jayne Beecroft tells me: "Last year our theme was green and he dropped in dressed as an elf.
"He looked great and is a really good sport."
This year's theme was gold, glamour and glitz.
As you can see from my picture, he did not disappoint.
