Monica, who is best known as the author of the Booker Prize-shortlisted Brick Lane, will be at the town library at Campus West from 4.30pm.
Her latest work, entitled In The Kitchen, opens with a peculiar death in the cellar of an upmarket hotel and proceeds to peel back the layers of multicultural London to reveal the melting pot below.
County councillor Keith Emsall, executive member for education and culture, said: "We're delighted to welcome Monica Ali to WGC library and know that everyone present will enjoy an evening to remember.
