A BENEFIT cheat, who continued to claim council handouts despite finding a job, has been ordered to repay nearly 1,500 by magistrates.
John Folan pleaded guilty to benefit fraud after he claimed housing and council tax benefit totalling more than 1,430 between March 30 and June 15, 2009.
Folan, of Hockerill, Watton-at-Stone, claimed the money fraudulently after he failed to notify East Herts Council that he had found work and come off the dole.
As well as having to repay the 1,430, Folan, 49, was fined 145 and ordered to pay 215 costs.
