Welwyn Garden City’s Campus West theatre hosted a BBC Radio 4 culinary discussion show.

The Kitchen Cabinet, chaired by well-known food critic and presenter Jay Rayner, is a panel show where experts answer culinary questions from the audience.

It was recorded live yesterday (Wednesday, September 19), with the panel for this week consisting of Andi Oliver, Tim Anderson, Sophie Wright, and Dr Annie Gray.

They discussed various topics including food in garden cities, bacon sandwiches and how to celebrate the Christian festival Michaelmas.

Councillor Terry Mitchinson, executive member for leisure, culture and communications, said: “It’s fantastic that such a high-profile show chose our much-loved local facility to host their discussion.

“I hope it showed the panel, and the audience, all that we have to offer here in the borough.”
