Police dealt with a fight in Hatfield on bank holiday Monday.


Police were called to a fight involving a group of people at the University of Hertfordshire in Hatfield yesterday evening.

A Herts Police spokesman told the Welwyn Hatfield Times: “Police were called to the De Havilland Campus of the University of Hertfordshire on Mosquito Way in Hatfield at 8.37pm on May 7 following reports of a dispute between a group of ten people in the library of the building.

“A large crowd had also congregated around the incident.

“After arriving at the scene police began to evacuate the library and disperse the crowd.

“One person has been arrested on suspicion of assaulting a police officer and was taken to custody.

“The officer sustained bruising.

“Officers remained at the scene until the group dispersed and the library was subsequently reopened.”
