At a recent event in London, Phil Spencer of Location, Location, Location, hosted the Annual Estate Agent of the Year Awards.

Ashtons, of WGC, received three nominations - two for sales and one for lettings at this year's event.

And the WGC sales office claimed fourth place in the south-east category, with the Village & Country office in Redbourn winning a silver medal; coming second only in the region to the eventual national winner, Alexander Watson of Middlesex.

For residential lettings, the country was split into three areas; north, central and south.

Against stiff competition, the WGC lettings office won third place on the back of a silver medal in 2007.

The awards, now in their fifth year, are considered to be the most prestigious and significant in the estate agency world.
