A BESTSELLING author will help judge a new award scheme championing rural life in Hertfordshire.

Writer Freya North, pictured, who lives in Essendon, will help judge the winners of the CRPE Hertfordshire Rural Living Awards Scheme, set up by the Campaign to Protect Rural England (CPRE).

Categories are divided into Rural Community Living, Rural Community Environment and Rural Living Champions (split into young people and adults).

The awards will be presented at County Hall, Hertford in October and the closing date for nominations is June 30.
