AUSTRALIAN Ashes debutant Ashton Agar honed his skills against North Mymms just weeks ago.

Now the 19-year-old all-rounder is bowling at England’s openers in the first Ashes Test today (Wednesday).

The left-hander has become the 2000th player to bowl a delivery in a Test match and at present is causing problems for England’s Jonathan Trott at Trent Bridge. On May 25 the teenager took a stunning 4-36 for Henley against North Mymms, in the Home Counties Premier Cricket League.

Henley went on to win by nine wickets.

Agar has also played against Welwyn Garden City in the league.
