AN arsonist torched two school minibuses in a late night attack in Potters Bar.

The yob was caught on CCTV setting fire to one of the vehicles in the car park of Dame Alice Owen's School, in Dugdale Hill Lane.

The flames spread and a second minibus parked nearby also caught light.

Both minibuses were destroyed and will now have to be replaced in time for the start of the new school year, this week.

Headteacher Dr Alan Davison told the Potters Bar Edition that CCTV footage showed one man carrying out the arson attack minutes before midnight on Saturday last week.

The film has since been given to the police, who are now investigating.

Dr Davison said: "It is devastating and very upsetting."
