A GROUP of boys who filmed a house fire in Hatfield could help track down arsonists, police have said.

Fluid was squirted through a broken window before matches thrown into the terraced home in Cunningham Avenue while two people were inside.

No one was hurt in the attack, but the kitchen was badly damaged.

Police say it happened shortly after 7am on Sunday, August 4.

DC Ashleigh Olwage, from the Local Crime Unit in Hatfield, said: “I’d like to speak to anyone who may have been in the area around the time of the arson.

“In particular, police would like to speak with a group of boys that were playing football on the green and who filmed the fire.”

Anyone with information can contact DC Olwage via the Herts Police non-emergency number, 101, quoting crime reference B2/13/2416.

Alternatively contact Crimestoppers, an independent charity anonymously, on 0800 555 111.
