AN Army Reservist from Brookmans Park played a vital role in keeping everyone safe during the London 2012 Olympic Games.
Trooper Jonathan Bolton, of The Honourable Artillery Company (HAC), was one of 18,200 military personnel involved with the police and civilian-led security for London 2012.
Tpr Bolton was sent to Earls Court, in London, where the volleyball was being held.
And the 23-year-old, who was lucky enough to watch some of the event during rest breaks, said he was wowed by the “positive atmosphere” and “friendly” fans.
He added: “I volunteered for the Olympics to do an operation with my unit and to get involved in something as massive as the Olympics.
“It’s been great to get a snapshot of how a major event like this works.”
Tpr Bolton graduated from London South Bank University this summer and is looking for a job in property investment.
He has been in the TA for five years.
The HAC is the oldest regiment in the British Army.
Its soldiers are trained as surveillance and target acquisition specialists, with skills in covert intelligence gathering, communications and logistics.
