Armed robbery at Hatfield newsagents - staff threatened

Men armed with a knife and what is believed to have been a handgun threatened shop staff during a robbery in Hatfield on Monday.

A police spokeswoman said: “Police were called to Martins newsagents in High View, Hatfield at 6.13am on Monday (September 12) to reports an armed robbery had occurred.

“Two men, one holding a knife and the other holding what is believed to have been a hand gun, threatened members of staff and took £600.

“No-one was injured during the incident.”

Anyone who saw anyone acting suspiciously in the area before the incident or who saw two men leaving the scene is asked to contact the Herts Police non-emergency number 101.”
