POLICE are appealing to trace the owners of a collapsed dog that had to be put down today (Monday).

A male white German Shepherd was found by a fisherman along a river by the A414 who then contacted the RSPCA.

Following a vets examination the dog had to be put to sleep.

As he was neither micro-chipped or wearing a collar, police are now trying to search for his owners.

Anyone with information should contact DC 968 Matthews on the non-emergency number 101.
