Police investigating the theft of a bank card in Welwyn Garden City have released images of two people they would like to speak to for help with their enquiries.

At around 2.15pm on Wednesday, October 21, an 80-year-old woman had her bank card stolen from her handbag as she waited near the pick-up bay outside Waitrose.

The card was then used to withdraw cash from an ATM before attempts were made to use it at various shops in Luton.

Just prior to the theft, the woman was approached by two people holding a map who asked her for directions.

Officers would like to speak with the people pictured as they may have information which could assist the investigation.

Anyone who recognises them, or has any other information about the theft is asked to contact police on the non-emergency number 101, quoting crime reference B1/15/3353.

Alternatively, if you have any information about this incident you can contact the independent crime-fighting charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111 or through their Anonymous Online Form at www.crimestoppers-uk.org. No personal details are taken, information cannot be traced or recorded and you will never need to go to court.
