South Norwood Animal Rescue and Liberty has sent leaflets to households in the town warning them that the recent attack has been linked to the UK animal killer series.

It reads: “We strongly advise you to bring inside any animals in pens or hutches outside and keep your cats indoors, certainly at night.

“The majority of the attacks are occurring during the hours of darkness but there have been some attacks during the day.”

A spokesperson for SNARL confirmed that the attack happened in Hatfield on February 21.

They also ask that if residents see anyone luring, kidnapping or harming animals, to call 999 quoting Operation Takahe.

The leaflet goes on to say: “If you see any mutilated bodies, call SNARL on 07961 030064 or 07957 830490.”

Any information about who might be committing these offences should be reported to Croydon Serious Crime Squad on 020 8649 0216 or police on 101.

A £10,000 reward has been offered to a person providing information leading to the successful conviction of the person/s responsible.
