A free animal-themed event is set to return to Hatfield town centre this summer.

On Wednesday, August 1, from 11am to 3pm, White Lion Square, Market Square and The Arcade will transform into an urban farm for Animal Crackers.

The event is a chance to meet all kinds of farm yard animals from Ark Farm, including ducks, donkeys, sheep and a Shetland pony. Visitors can also learn about what food the animals eat and how they are looked after.

Councillor Terry Mitchinson said: “Animal Crackers is a fun and educational event for children that allows them to gain some hands-on experience with different animals, as well as learning about how they’re cared for.

“I’d encourage everyone to come along for a fantastic family day out.”

There will also be falconry displays, donkey rides, small reptile handling, children’s activities, and a fun fair.
