Plans are in the pipeline to make Hatfield's market bigger and better.
Hatfield could have three market days if a proposal comes to fruition.
Market manager Alan Brown believes Hatfield market has a bright future and has ambitions to make it bigger and better.
He said: “Friday is a good shopping day for the weekend and there’s good footfall because of Asda.
“We average about 15 stalls, but we’re looking at getting the market up to at least 20.
“When the market was in Market Square, it was dying rapidly. Since we have moved, we have done quite well.
“We’re waiting for electric and that’s restricting some traders because some of the food traders need hot water.
“Once we get electricity, that would be a boast.”
Mr Brown added: “I think this town could sustain a Friday market.”
A Welwyn Hatfield Council spokesman told the WHT: “We aim to have the electrics in place for the middle of December.
“We will start work on this as soon as the scaffolding has come down from White Lion House.
“We do not run Hatfield market but we support any idea that will improve the local economy in Hatfield and attract people to the town centre, so we are in favour of introducing this proposed third market day.
“We would be happy to support a trial of a Friday market in 2017.”
