GOOD times will be had by ‘ale’ as a cask-ade of foaming nut-brown beers will be winging their way to a Potters Bar pub.

Five American cask-conditioned beers will be on offer at the Admiral Byng, in Darkes Lane, as part of a 19-day beer festival.

The festival started on Wednesday (October 5) and runs until Sunday, October 23.

The five US ales have been brewed in the UK by their respective brewers to their individual recipes.

They are: Kalamazoo Black Silk, Sandiago Session IPA, Cascadian Dark Ale, Yakima Sun and Ninety Shilling.

In addition, the pub is serving beers from across the UK, including The Governor, Ginger Beard, Horse Rustler, Old Crafty Hen, Pudding Porter, Vapour Trail and Brother Rabbit.

The UK beers include those brewed for the first time exclusively for the festival, speciality beers with
ingredients including fruit, spices and honey, and beers no longer brewed, but resurrected for the festival.

All the beers will be priced at £2.15 a pint.

Customers can sample any three of the beers in special third-of-a-pint glasses for the price of a pint.

A spokesman said: “The festival will give people the opportunity to enjoy a superb selection of American beers not usually available in the UK, as well as wonderful beers brewed closer to home.

“The festival promises to be great fun and I am certain that customers at The Admiral Byng will enjoy themselves.”
