SUPERMARKET chain Aldi has opened a store in the newly-constructed Comet Square site off Comet Way, Hatfield.

The shop, was opened by Welwyn Hatfield deputy mayor Michael Long.

Area manager Karen Walker said: "We are delighted to be opening the store in Hatfield.

"We are especially pleased to be part of such a large re-development scheme within the Comet Way retail park."

It will be open Monday to Friday 9am until 7pm, Saturday 8.30am until 7pm and Sunday 10am until 4pm.

Also in the development are Subway and Domino's Pizza.n

A JD Wetherspoon's pub is currently being built next door.

* The WHT has have teamed up with Aldi to offer one lucky reader hamper, containing a host of products from the store, including Champagne, chocolates and a MP4 player.

To enter, just cut out the coupon in this week's WHT and drop it into the new Hatfield store by noon on Monday, March 31.

The draw will take place at 1pm that day.

As well as the main prize, 10 runners-up will win a bottle of Aldi's award-winning Crémant du Jura.

The winners will be notified by telephone.
