Air ambulance lands in Potters Bar

Police assisted paramedics as they tended to a child in Potters Bar yesterday.

A police spokesman said: “Police attended in Southgate Road, Potters Bar, shortly after 1pm on Sunday (September 24) to assist the ambulance service following a report of an unwell child.

“The road was closed for a time between Oakmere Road and the M25 to enable the landing of the air ambulance.”

An ambulance service spokesman said: “We were called to reports of an unwell child at 12.57pm on yesterday (24th September).

“Three rapid response vehicles, an ambulance and the Essex and Herts Air Ambulance attended the scene.

“The child was taken to hospital by land ambulance.”

Members of the public reported seeing five police cars at the scene.

It is understood that the air ambulance landed in a nearby field.
