Air ambulance lands at Welham Green crash scene

The air ambulance, firefighters and police have all been on the scene of a two-vehicle crash this afternoon on the Great North Road in Welham Green.

Police were called at 12.45pm following a crash between a Volkswagen Polo and a Ford Focus on the A1000, Great North Road in Welham Green.

A police spokeswoman said an air ambulance arrived at 1.36pm and a land ambulance crew was also in attendance.

She said the road was closed at the roundabout in Welham Green.

An ambulance service spokeswoman said: “We were called at 1.26pm to the A1000 in Welham Green and sent an ambulance, rapid response vehicle, ambulance officer and the helicopter from Essex and Herts Air Ambulance.”
