Archant

Members of Welwyn Garden City Sailing Club have generated some booty for a hospice.

Skull and crossbone flags, flashing silver cutlasses, heavy gold chains, and even a treasure chest, were in evidence as the Fast Fleet sailors battled against the Slow Fleet sailors through quizzes and games to gain advantage.

The surprise winners were the Slow Fleet, who won by two points: 36 to 34.

The evening raised the grand sum of £200 for Isabel Hospice in memory of two members, Cheryl Luxford and John Pike.
