An ever-popular annual festivity is likely to attract hundreds of people to a Potters Bar church on Saturday.

Organiser Tony Corfe of the town’s United Reform Church told the Welwyn Hatfield Times that “Darkes Fayre” had been established over 40 years ago.

This year, the event will have an African theme, as half the profits will be donated to a church community in Zambia.

Mr Corfe said: “There will be two primary school choirs. At least part of their music will be African, and there will be some African drums, which should be interesting.”

Other attractions include stalls and various games of skill.

The event at the Darke’s Lane church will last from 10.30 am to 3.30pm.
