Drivers were unable to reach Welham Green from the A1(M) motorway for well over two hours this morning, because two fallen trees were blocking the junction.

The northbound slip road of Junction 2 was closed by the Highways Agency after two trees fell across it in the early morning.

The junction was reopened at about 11am after a tree surgeon had cleared the debris.
