THE A1(M) has partially reopened after a two-car smash earlier today (Tuesday).

A car collided with the central reservation, careered across into the opposite carriageway and flipped over at just after 1pm.

A police spokesman said: “One lane northbound is open between Junctions 4 and 5 and two lanes [are] open southbound between Junctions 5 and 4.”

He added: “This is while Highways repair damage to the barriers in the central reservation.”
