Flooding forced the closure of the A1(M) southbound lane this morning (Friday).

The Highways Agency sent “resources” to clear the floodwater after being contacted at 3.47am.

It happened where the road meets the M25’s J23.

An agency spokesman said: “We responded to this by sending resources to clear the floodwater.

“The access slip road from the M25 was then closed at 7.35am while floodwater was being cleared.

“Floodwater cleared and all lanes open by 9.08am.”
