A WOMAN is trapped in a car following a collision on the A1(M) at WGC.
The accident happened this afternoon (Wednesday) when a blue Renault Clio, carrying four people, overturned on the southbound carriageway, close to junction 5, WGC.
One passenger has been taken to the Lister Hospital in Stevenage on a spinal board, according to an ambulance spokeswoman.
Two other passengers did not need hospital treatment.
Hertfordshire Air Ambulance was called to the scene at around 3pm, while fire crews are attempting to release the woman from the wreckage.
Her injuries are not thought to be life threatening.
The southbound carriageway is currently closed between junction 5 and junction 6, Welwyn. The northbound lane is not said to be affected.
