REPORTS of a trailer fire on the A1(M) were a “false alarm”.

One crew from WGC was called to the blaze after reports of the fire came in at around 3.50pm today (Monday).

The burning trailer was said to be between Junction 6, Welwyn, and 7, Stevenage, on the northbound carriageway.

Firefighters tried to find the smoking trailer but could not locate it.

A fire service spokesman revealed it had been listed as a “good intent false alarm”.
