SIXTH-FORMERS at Stanborough School in WGC have been praised for their top marks in today's A-level results.

More than half, 53 per cent, of all entries were grades A and B, and 100 per cent of the entries gained an A-level grade.

Peter Brown, headteacher at the Lemsford Lane school, said the "great" outcome was down to the "extremely hard work by the students and dedication by their teachers".

He added: "The school is very proud of the exceptionally high pass rate with top grades, particularly in the so-called 'hard' subjects such as history, mathematics, English literature and the sciences.

"We offer the students, many of whom now have confirmed places at top universities, our warmest congratulations on their fantastic achievements
