THE troubled Quality Hotel in Welwyn has today (Tuesday) closed for good, with the loss of nearly 70 jobs.
As previously reported by the WHT, owners The Real Hotel Company was placed in administration last month.
But a spokeswoman for administrators BDO Stoy Hayward today said the hotel - situated on the A1(M) junction six roundabout and formerly known as The Clock - had ceased trading.
She said: "I can confirm that the Welwyn Quality Hotel is closed. Approximately 69 employees have been made redundant, including temporary staff."
The Quality Hotel in Roehyde Way, Hatfield, is continuing to trade as normal as the administrators look for a buyer for the firm.
