A Woolmer Green couple celebrated their diamond wedding anniversary earlier this month.

Pat and Edward Wisden, aged 79 and 82, of Garden Road, celebrated 60 years of marriage on Thursday, November 12.

The couple got married at English Martyrs Catholic Church in Reading, and now have four children, three grandchildren, and two great grandchildren.

Reflecting on their marriage, Pat said: “We have got on alright. He’s always been hard working, and with four children around there wasn’t much money, but we got by and are here to tell the tale.”

Recalling a funny memory, she added: “He used to snore so loud that he got put in the back bedroom. That was about 30 years ago.”
