Minty is the focus of RSPCA Southridge's latest pet appeal

Hello, my name is 'Minty', a sweet little snowy white domestic short haired cat, between about six months to a year old.

I am looking for my own special home with calm, patient and understanding people who will offer me an environment where I can feel safe to continue to build my trust and confidence in the world around me.

I am a gentle little soul and, while I do have a sociable side, I enjoy having plenty of quiet spaces and cosy places to hide.

This is something I am going to need in my new home while I adjust to and familiarise myself with my new surroundings.

I know that once I find my paws and feel safe and comfortable, my lovely and truly affectionate nature will really begin to shine through.

At Southridge I so enjoy the attention of the staff and volunteers I have got to know well, and I love to spend time with them.

While I cannot tell anyone at Southridge about my past experiences as a young kitten, it is known that I was abandoned by someone who did not care about my welfare, and this has left me a little anxious.

As an example being picked up can be quite worrying for me, because being lifted makes me feel vulnerable and unsafe.

My new family will need to be patient, understanding and respectful of this, allowing me to feel secure in the knowledge that no one will ever put pressure on me.

I know that with gentle play, positive interactions and lots of encouragement I will build trust in the family who have chosen to take me in and seeing my confidence grow will hopefully be a positive reward to them.

I think I would be happiest being the only pet in my new home, as this would enable me to enjoy a peaceful environment and have all the love and attention just for me!

I will also need an adult only home where my new family will understand that building a bond may take a little time, but it will be worth it I can assure you.

Please, please if you think you can offer me the home I need, contact Southridge.
