A shopping centre is inviting the community to help make a difference in Hatfield this festive season.
The Galleria is launching its Giving Tree campaign on 20 November in partnership with national charity Kids Out, offering shoppers the chance to donate gifts for children who have experienced domestic abuse.
Felicity Larkin, head of retail at The Galleria, said: "Christmas should be a special time for every child, but we recognise that this can be a particularly challenging period for children affected by domestic abuse.
"We’re proud to be supporting Kids Out and hope our Giving Tree will encourage our shoppers and local community to come together and make a real difference.
"Every gift, donation and act of kindness can help bring a little extra happiness to a child this Christmas."
Every year, around 24,000 children across the UK are forced to leave behind their friends, family and familiar surroundings to move into safe accommodation, often arriving with very few belongings.
The Giving Tree aims to bring festive cheer to these children by ensuring they receive a thoughtful gift during the holiday season.

Visitors to The Galleria can take part by selecting a gift label from one of two Giving Trees, located at Customer Service in Santa’s Workshop or at The Entertainer on the Upper Mall.
Each label describes a requested gift, which shoppers can purchase or contribute towards using a QR code.
Donated gifts can be dropped off at The Entertainer for delivery to children in need.
Kids Out supports children affected by domestic abuse through a range of services, including toy boxes, days out, food vouchers, and digital devices for learning and communication.
In addition to the Giving Tree, The Galleria is hosting wreath-making and candle centrepiece workshops, with all profits going to Kids Out.
Tickets for the workshops are available on Eventbrite at: https://www.eventbrite.com/e/christmas-wreath-candle-centrepiece-workshops-tickets-2003894119254?aff=oddtdtcreator&keep_tld=true
The initiative aims to bring the community together through a simple act of generosity, demonstrating how small gestures can have a lasting impact on children and families facing difficult circumstances.
The Galleria is encouraging visitors to take part in the Giving Tree initiative, support the Christmas workshops and share the campaign with friends, family and colleagues to help spread the word.
