A popular Old Hatfield pub is set to reopen nearly seven months after it closed.

The Eight Bells in Park Street has been revamped and rebranded since closing in March.

The pub has shared behind-the-scenes images of a cosy fire, historical pictures and its fresh paintwork.

An opening date has now been confirmed.

On Tuesday, the pub posted: "After too long a wait these doors will finally reopen at 5pm on Thursday, November 5!

"We look forward to welcoming you back!"

The pub dates back to 1226 and is believed to have hosted Charles Dickens in 1838. It was also supposedly visited by Bill Sikes, the brutal fictional character from Oliver Twist.

Infamous highwayman Dick Turpin is also said to have visited The Eight Bells.

Scenes for Marks and Spencer's 2025 Christmas advert were also filmed at the pub, which was dressed with fake snow and festive decorations in August.

Currently, The Eight Bells is under the ownership of Heineken's Star pubs following a brief stint under local operator Farr Brew.

It is one of three pubs in OId Hatfield.
