Bluey is the focus of RSPCA Southridge's Pet Appeal this week

Hi folks

My name is Bluey, a smashing, lovable, approximately three-year-old Lurcher with a huge heart.

I was cruelly abandoned and found wandering alone and scared, so when I first arrived at Southridge I was in a bewildered and anxious state.

This is the third time now I am featuring here, so I have my paws crossed it is third time lucky and I will now find my forever home.

However, the good news is I am now in a wonderful foster home and my fosterers have officially reported that I have settled in well, am amazing in their home and am a huge fan of cuddles!

But this is a stop gap for me and I still desperately want to be permanently settled.

Before I came to my foster home, I had been one of the longest residents at Southridge, and no one had ever applied to adopt me.

This made me extremely unhappy and despondent and I would lie quietly on my bed much of the time wondering why nobody wanted a super duper dog like me.

Besides being super affectionate, I am clever and well-mannered, know several commands, am very well-behaved on lead and walk beautifully by your side.

I am comfortable with wearing a muzzle after gentle training with this. I love to play fetch and to frolic with my toys.

When I first arrived at Southridge I was a little worried around other dogs and certainly of new environments.

Gradually as my confidence grew I made friends with some of the Southridge dogs while I was there.

Now with my foster family, I have become quite the social butterfly and have a variety of doggie friends, both male and female that I meet up with.

My favourite game is to have a race, which of course being a lurcher and very fast, I always win!

I think I would thrive best in a calm and understanding home, possibly with a friendly female canine companion, although being an only dog so I can lap up all your affection would be fine too.

Cats are a no-no for me, as they are just too tempting to chase! Also as Southridge has no history of my past life, despite my gentle nature, they think I should go to an adult only home. I will need a secure fenced garden too to frolic my stuff in.

And, being a couch potato, a cosy sofa is a must, with my loving family members snuggled next to me.

So if you are looking for a loyal, fun and hugely affectionate companion who will fill your days with joy and your heart with love, look no further, I am your perfect match.

PLEASE, PLEASE CAN YOU BE THE ONE TO FINALLY OFFER ME A PERMANENT HOME?

If you think you can fill out an application online ASAP. I can’t wait to meet you.
