A disqualified driver has been jailed for six months after he was found driving a vehicle near South Mimms.
Paul Field, 48, of Northwood Avenue, Hornchurch, was arrested and appeared at Hatfield Magistrates’ Court on Friday, September 4, where he pleaded guilty to driving while disqualified, driving without insurance, and failing to provide a specimen.
He was jailed for six months and banned from driving for four years and nine months.
PC Kade Hammond, from the Hertsmere Response Team, said: "Field showed a complete disregard for the law by getting behind the wheel despite being disqualified from driving and having no insurance.
"When challenged by officers, he then refused to provide a breath specimen and attempted to deny being the driver."
Field was arrested at around 8.10am on Thursday, September 3.
Officers had been called to a report of a crashed vehicle at the end of Kitts End Road, near the junction with Dancers Hill Road.

Field refused to give a breath specimen and claimed he had not been driving, instead saying he was waiting for the vehicle to be recovered.
However, CCTV footage confirmed he had been driving the vehicle the day before, on Wednesday, September 2.
Further checks revealed he was uninsured.
PC Hammond said: "Thanks to thorough enquiries, including CCTV evidence, we were able to prove the offences and bring him before the courts.
"We welcome the sentence imposed and hope it serves as a reminder that those who continue to drive unlawfully will be dealt with robustly.
"Road safety is a priority for Hertfordshire Constabulary and we remain committed to taking action against drivers who put themselves and others at risk."
