Hatfield Park will host a lecture on the art of collecting.
The one-night event at Jacobean Hatfield House on Friday, September 25, will bring experts together to examine why people collect.
The Hatfield Park Rock Crystal will take centre stage in the Long Gallery.
The finely carved crystal piece, inlaid with gold, rubies and pearls, belonged to Robert Cecil, 1st Earl of Salisbury.
The evening starts at 5.45pm with a Champagne reception in the Long Gallery, where guests can see the Rock Crystal.
The lecture starts at 6.30pm in the Marble Hall, followed by a live audience question-and-answer session.
The panel features Dr Timothy Schroder, Dr Susan Bracken and Tom White, who will explore why collections have been built over the years.
Tickets cost £50 per person.
Book early: places are limited.

The present Jacobean house was completed in 1611 after Robert Cecil, 1st Earl of Salisbury, demolished most of the earlier palace and built the current residence in its place.
