A Welwyn Garden City care home manager has been named a finalist for a national award at the Leaders in Care Awards.
Joanna Sage, manager of Stanborough Lodge, is shortlisted for Registered Manager of the Year for her leadership and commitment to excellent care.
She is praised as a compassionate leader who creates a “positive and nurturing environment” for residents, families and staff.
RMD Care, which runs six homes including Stanborough Lodge, is also a finalist in three categories: Care Home Provider of the Year, Innovation in Care Homes Technology and Care Kitchen Team of the Year.

The Leaders in Care Awards ceremony will take place on Tuesday, October 6, 2026.
All six RMD Care homes are rated "Good" by the Care Quality Commission, and the provider does not use agency staff.
