An historic village pub in Tewin has been put forward for a new letting opportunity, with brewery giant Greene King seeking an experienced operator to take the reins.

The Plume of Feathers, on Upper Green, is described as a “charming” country pub and within easy reach of Welwyn.

Greene King plans to move The Plume of Feathers on to its leased and tenanted model.

A spokesperson said: “Following the announcement of our new pub estate strategy earlier this year, we have plans to transfer The Plume of Feathers in Tewin to our highly successful leased and tenanted model.

“The pub is a real hub for the local community and offers fantastic potential with a charming interior and an expansive beer garden.

“We are looking to recruit an experienced pub operator to run the Plume of Feathers and actively encourage those interested to apply. The pub remains open and trading as usual.”

The pub’s facilities include a spacious beer garden, outdoor play area and on‑site car park, making it a popular spot for families and walkers.

While there is no fixed “rhythm of the week” in terms of events, the brewery believes there is scope to introduce regular activities and theme nights to build on its existing community support.

Reviewers have consistently praised the friendly atmosphere and great food, as one customer said: "Lovely pub, food was very good and tasty, and service was also great.”

A neighbourhood watch group and a cycling club already use the venue regularly, underlining its role as a social hub.

The Grade II-listed pub is thought to have been built in the 1500s.

Details of the letting opportunity are available via Greene King’s Pub Partners website.
