A man from Welham Green has been arrested on suspicion of drug possession with intent to supply, as officers stepped up efforts to tackle drug dealing.
A 34-year-old man was arrested in Vincenzo Close, Welham Green, on Tuesday, August 27, following a report from a member of the public.
The man was arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply, possession of cannabis, and driving without insurance.
The vehicle he was driving was also seized and later in custody he was arrested on suspicion of taking a motor vehicle without the owner’s consent.
He has now been bailed while enquiries continue.
Sergeant Robert Wilson, from the Neighbourhood Policing Team, said: "During the arrest, we seized cannabis and then carried out a search of a property where we seized a further quantity of the drug.
"We know the misery that drugs can cause to communities and as this arrest shows, we will take action when you report concerns.
"I hope this news is reassuring and I encourage residents to carry on reporting any concerns they have."
