The Welwyn Hatfield Neighbourhood Policing Team offered crime prevention advice and chatted to residents at an event in Stanborough Park.

Officers were in the park meeting with the public between 11am and 3pm on Friday, August 16.

As well as offering advice, they also provided free bike-marking.

PC Darren Turner, from the Neighbourhood Policing Team, said: "We had a lovely time meeting residents and we were pleased to see so many take up the offer of free bike-marking.

"Bike-marking is such a simple but effective way of protecting you against bike theft.

"Firstly it acts as a deterrent but in addition, if the bike is still stolen we have a better chance of reuniting it with its rightful owner.

"I would like to thank everybody who came along, whether it was just for a chat or to pick up some useful crime prevention advice.

"We had a great time meeting you and we hope you enjoyed the event too."
