Planned changes to a One Stop store in Welwyn Garden City can now go ahead after an application was approved.
Welwyn Hatfield Borough Council pushed through proposals for new signage, advertising cases and a possible extension at the One Stop store in Peartree Lane.
The plans include shop signs stretching across the full length of the building, rather than just above the current unit - suggesting the store will be expanding into the empty unit next door.
It has stood empty since March 9, when Boots decided to close the pharmacy that occupied the site, as part of plans to shut 300 stores across the UK.
Plans also appear to show that changes will be made to the front of the building, with the door to the former Boots pharmacy replaced by windows, and signage for the Post Office removed.
Welwyn Hatfield Borough Council's approval comes with a number of conditions, including maintaining the signage and advertising cases.
"The decision has been made taking into account, where practicable and appropriate the requirements of paragraph 38 of the National Planning Policy Framework and material planning considerations do not justify a decision contrary to the development plan," the decision reads.
