The popular Volunteer Speed Matching event will be returning to Hatfield next month.

The event is set to take place on Wednesday, June 26 at Breaks Manor Youth Centre, and will be hosted by the Volunteer Centre Welwyn Hatfield and the Welwyn Hatfield CVS.

Volunteer Speed Matching connects participants with charities, non-profit organisations, and community groups.

Modelled on speed dating, it allows potential volunteers to chat with and learn about various organisations, making it easier to find their perfect volunteering match with suitable causes.

During the event - which is part of Small Charity Week 2024 - participants can learn more about each organisation’s goals, the roles they need volunteers for, and what they’re seeking ideally from potential volunteers.

The informal environment encourages conversation to be friendly and relaxed, allowing people to explore different volunteering opportunities without any obligation.

After the matching rounds, there’s time to mingle, swap stories, and potentially make new friends over light refreshments.

Prospective participants can get more information and sign up for the event at https://tinyurl.com/2s4h826f.

A Welwyn Hatfield CVS spokesperson said: "Volunteering isn't just about giving your time; it's also about meeting people who share your thoughts about volunteering, that’s the first thing you’ll have in common."
