A popular Welwyn Garden City pub is "not closing down" despite rumours circulating online about its future.
A post in the Facebook group Welwyn Hatfield Unhinged from an anonymous member said that "they had heard gossip" about The Hollybush, in Hollybush Lane, closing down.
The comments on the post were a mixture of concern and disbelief, while others seemed to confirm the rumour.
The Welwyn Hatfield Times contacted the Stonegate Group, who operate the pub, to confirm its future, with a spokesperson saying: "The Hollybush will not be closing down and there is nothing to report on the site."
The Hollybush is a community pub that has been serving the residents in the Hatfield Hyde area since it was built in 1958.
