One week after finding a cannabis factory in Hatfield, Hertfordshire police have discovered five rooms of the plants at an address in Welwyn Garden City.

On Monday (April 16), officers spoke with the landlord of a property in Eddington Crescent, who believed it was being used by tenants to grow the drug.

Police later met with the landlord and forced entry to the address, where mature cannabis plants were found along with a loft being used to grow the next batch of the drug.

Neighbourhood Policing Inspector Amy Sheldon said: “It is pleasing to see the significant progress we are making to tackle the local drugs supply.

“An investigation into this factory is now under way by our colleagues in the operational support group and I thank them for their assistance.

“Cannabis is often associated with other criminality so it is a real focus for us. The factories themselves often pose a fire risk to the innocent neighbours around them.
